About HBCU Community

Our Truth

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were created to provide Black students with a higher education they would not have been able to receive elsewhere. As a result of this purpose, HBCUs have an inherent connection with one another. Unfortunately, this connection has not been taken full advantage of.

Our Mission

HBCU Community is dedicated to connecting students, alumni, and recruiters within the HBCU ecosystem. Our mission is to empower the next generation of leaders through connections, opportunities, and community reinforcement. By fostering a vibrant and inclusive network, we aim to create a space where the unique talents and potential of HBCU students and graduates can be fully realized and celebrated.

Our Need

HBCUs have long been pillars of higher education, producing graduates who excel in various fields and contribute significantly to society. Despite their rich history and the remarkable achievements of their alumni, HBCUs often encounter challenges that can hinder the complete development of their students and graduates. These challenges include limited access to career resources, fewer networking opportunities, and lack of representation in many professional sectors.

Beyond professional development, social connections are vital for the personal growth and well-being of HBCU students and alumni. Strong social networks can provide emotional support, foster lifelong friendships, and create a sense of belonging. These social bonds are especially important within the HBCU community, where shared experiences and cultural heritage play a crucial role in shaping individual identities and strengthening communal ties.

Our community is our greatest asset, yet it is not fully utilized. HBCU Community is changing that.
